Pruett Publishing Company has been producing books from the Mountain West since 1959. During this time, we have published books that have sold a million copies (Preparation for Childbirth by Donna and Roger Ewy), received prestigious awards (the Pen Martha Albrand Award for Magpie Rising by Merrill Gilfillan), and generated paperback sales to large New York publishers (Trout Bum by John Gierach; Obit by Jim Sheeler). We have also released titles that have become classics in their fields (The Earth Is Enough by Harry Middleton) and books that have remained in print for more than thirty years (Tomboy Bride by Harriet Fish Backus and A Colorado History by Carl Ubbelohde, Maxine Benson, and Duane Smith).
Today you will find us working on a variety of books, they are intended for outdoor enthusiasts of all sorts, travelers, and lovers of history. We also actively publish textbooks for grade school students about the history of Colorado. We pride ourselves in producing high-quality books and offering excellent customer service.
